I got my immunization record form filled out by my doctor's office. I do not have some of the vaccines required. Do I need to get the vaccine, or will I get it come I-Day?

Either way works... do keep in mind possible sore arm I- and Post I-Day.

Also it has been noted that even if you have them all - the Navy can somehow find a reason to repeat a few. Take your shot record with you but be prepared to have it ignored!

You can receive the shots on I-day but according to my 2nd class son you really don't want to do that. The day is so stressful as it is (some of the shots are painful-especially the live virus ones and tetanus) and you are going to be lugging around a 50 lb bag the rest of the day. It is much easier to have your local doctor/clinic do it now and be done with it. Also, they take several vials of blood on I-day which also makes you a little woozy. At least they have have snacks around to keep you going! BTW Tricare (retired military) was a real pain when they were billed as they said some of these were not authorized immunizations and they would only pay for them if he was an infant. We ended up paying about $400 for those shots. This time with my daughter we have secondary insurance with MOAA and they pick up everything Tricare doesn't.
