Immunizations

Hi everybody! Hope all is well in the world of CC!

I'm sorry to bug you all again, but I had another question and I wanted to know if anybody had any experience with the USMA immunization forms.

Here is the issue:

I went today to get my immunizations form filled out at the doctor. Unfortunately, I didn't get a Hepatitis A series yet. The problem is that I will be able to get the first one, but I cannot get the second shot until after R-Day because of the way the shot is administered. I understand that it says that all shots must be complete before R-Day but it will be impossible to get the shot done.

I talked with my parents about it and we thought to just send a letter explaining the situation to USMA. Anybody else know about the immunizations process at USMA? Can I get a shot after R-Day, or am I in big trouble?

Any recommendations/opinions would be most appreciated. Thank you!

I just got my form back from the doc today. That thing was a pain. I had a complication but it was with the menengitis shots. The form said you had to have one less than a year before R-Day but mine will be 13 months old in July. It was, however, a new lifetime immunization that is not listed on the form. We called the Molonge (sp?) Cadet Clinic and explained the situation. The nurse said that it would be fine I just had to include a letter from my doc explaining that I have a lifetime shot and don't need a second dose. I suggest that you call the clinic and explain your situation. You'll probably have to leave a message, though. I left my number and it took a couple of days before I was actually able to talk to someone.

If you begin yor series of immunizations, they will complete them at USMA at the time they are due. A huge number of people will be standing in line with you.

So basically as long as I let them know about what shots I need, I will be okay? Good, that was a close call.

Thanks you two for your help!
