imo, summer dresses > jeans

Summer dresses make nearly every girl look better.

It depends.

I hate jeans.

I love dresses.

I wear way too many dresses and skirts; I’ve only one pair of jeans. Jeans are just uncomfortable. Besides, having to worry about what shirt to wear and what pants to wear is annoying. With dresses, you can get dressed within ten seconds and still get compliments. AMAZING.

Oooh, perfect summary from retro :)

Indeed, jeans are a pain to find compliments to whereas a summer dress takes only seconds to throw on. This reminds me to go find one before summer formally begins lol…

From a guy’s perspective, summer dresses are much more sexy.

Haha at all the bridesmaid dresses for summer weddings on sale to our left.

Retro and rando have it totally right. Usually people call those who throw on a pair of jeans and a shirt lazy, but it takes much less effort to get into a dress. It’s so hard to find the right fit for jeans, and I supposedly have the body type that clothing companies cater to. Plus, since most females stick to the pants, most people love seeing a girl in a dress. I’m working on completely eradicating seperates from my wardrobe.

I just love dresses - they’re wonderful and oh so comfortable! :)

^^ lol okay then why do most girls stick to pants?

^Other girls are the source of most verbal comments on our attire. They know how easy putting on a dress is and will rarely compliment one, unless the fit is exceptional, the pattern is rare, the accessories jibe perfectly, etc. I would suppose girls are interested in separates because there’s effort put into looking nice.
Also, I feel incredibly lazy if I wear dresses all the time. Separates also allow for really cute skirt shirt combos and let me try out cool things with belts and scarves. (Large scarf as a shirt anyone?)
I suppose most girls feel the same way abut pants shirt combos as I do about dress ones. But I still feel like a lot of girls are going after a certain image when they wear pants all the time. They don’t want to be girly girls. They want to be girls who wear t-shirts and jeans, girls who dress effortlessly but not stylishly, because they don’t care.

Just my opinion.

Both on the right girl IMO. However, there are better looking options ; ). alskdhfopaisdnf I’m not creeping lol.

He’s being frank and simple, ladies…can’t get any better than that.

Agreed with Millancad. Dresses are viewed as an attempt to look nice(r).

I live in California and summer dresses are perfect for the weather. But despite their “effortlessness”, I don’t wear them all the time because it gives off a look of “trying hard” (if you wear them everyday). Also, it’s annoying to have to constantly shop for new ones.

The days I wear dresses are the days I’m too lazy/rushed to pick out a shorts+shirt/tank top outfit. They’re so easy to just grab and slip on.

Seconded, although it really depends on the individual. I know at least one girl who looks best in sweatpants…

I’m a jeans girl all year round, because it’s so frickin cold where I live. I’d absolutely love to wear summer dresses all year round, but I must say that I prefer jeans or pants. 1. You can’t run or jump in dresses very well 2. Most dresses you have to dry clean so they have to remain very clean 3. You always have to make sure your legs are crossed when sitting down 4. The wind could accidently blow your dress up 5. you become labeled as the girly-girl who tries to act stylish

“3. You always have to make sure your legs are crossed when sitting down”
Even if it is a longish skirt?

^Do people wear longish dresses?

^How long is longish?

@proletariat2, i can second sweatpants. they look hot on some girls

I always thought of a “summer dress” as a dress that went down to knees or just above the knees. What do you mean by “longish”? I’m thinking like those bright colored sun dresses that many girls at Southern schools wear to football games  = summer dress.
