Okay, well, now WE are all waiting to see how this turns out - keep us posted! :)

Since I know dodgersmom is waiting with bated breath, here’s an update:

I spoke with FinAid. I spoke with a delightful person, which, judging by the date and the length of time I waited in queue, is remarkable. Since ex’s loan is listed as Pending Aid on her account, the Bursar’s Office will be notified on the first day of classes that my D has aid expected, and she will not be dropped from her classes. She will receive emails if there is some problem, such as if my ex doesn’t complete the MPN soon. I paid my portion through the website this afternoon, so now we just wait and see.

I asked what the deadline is for my ex to finish the process, and she said there is no set deadline, so technically by the end of the semester. (!) I was suprised to hear that. I emailed Mr. ex and let him know that he has an action item to take care of and that I have paid my portion.

I’m glad I don’t have to worry about my D having a problem when she starts classes, but I’ll feel even better when I see his proceeds applied to D’s account.

Gosh I hope this works out and he has indeed stepped up!

You and me both, TempeMom.

[sitting quietly, nibbling on ice cream, and waiting for outcome]

Well, good news - his loan went through and D’s bill has been paid. The funny thing is, they applied D’s scholarships, loans, and HIS loans before applying my “cash” payment. So the overage amount of the loan he has applied for is actually showing up as a portion of MY payment being unapplied. I bet he wasn’t expecting that…and not my problem. He can sort it out himself.

D and I fly out Wednesday morning, and I will do so with a sigh of relief. :)

Congratulations - what a (surprisingly) good outcome!

Thanks dodgersmom, I agree!

That’s what I had hoped would happen. I’m glad.

Thanks, cpt.

W00T! (ten char)

Haha, you bet, TempeMom!
