Impact of Science Research

Hey guys,

Well, after emailing around 40 professors at my local medical center, I finally found one who was gracious enough to take me in as a full-time intern. I love what we are doing (observing gene regulation in pericardial development of chimps) and will have an awesome time doing it. However, I am still somewhat curious as to how it will look on an application. Obviously, it will be helpful. However, I am a rising senior and will not have time to enter very many major science fairs (really only I will enter our state fair prior to application time). So, for a student who is border-line for Rice University (my #1 skool), would doing this research help put me over the top?

Thanks,
Robbie

Bump it up

I think it’s a good EC, especially if you’re passionate about it. You can write about it in your essays or get your mentor to write you a supplementary recommendation.
All the best to you!
