Is it really hard to switch from Undeclared to impacted majors like electrical engineering or bioengineering? And if it’s possible, how long does it take to officially make the switch?

almost impossible. they flatout say that you CANNOT switch on their website.

i guess, if you plead to the dean of engineering with valid reasons... perhaps. probably not though.

i think it's possible if you're atleast in the engineering college but if you aren't i think it's impossible.

Electrical engineering is no longer impacted. Computer engineering is, however.

is bioeng: pre med impacted?

no it's not. I just emailed ucsd about switching to bioegin or biotech and they said it's impossible.

EE was still impacted when I checked the Jacobs website earlier today.

Is there other info elsewhere?

I talked to an EE professor in person at Scholars Day.. he said that they are taking EE out of impacted state due to a decline in enrollment. So, starting this fall when we enroll, it will not be considered impacted.

Thanks for the good news.
