Impatiently Waiting for Fall 2014

Anyone else unable to handle the fact that there is still five months before next school year starts?? I know, I'm being a bit unreasonable, but I am too excited to control myself. I've spent the last two weeks looking through CC and my school's website and insanely searching online for anything related to boarding school. Any suggestions for getting through to the end of the school year?

And I thought the wait for March 10 was long.

Look to do a lot of things this summer in preparation for school. Camps, lessons, shopping, traveling, etc. I’m putting together a fitness program for myself that includes hockey, volleyball and softball workouts. I’ll be visiting the batting cages 1-2 times per week, I’ll be doing a couple volleyball camps (and joining a summer league if I can find one), and I’ll be on the ice as much as possible. I’m taking voice lessons to get my singing voice back (I’ve taken about a year off), I’m getting a job, volunteering with the state parks, going to a music festival, possibly organizing a 5k (if I get approval from the board at the town board meeting next month), and taking an online algebra 1 course. Plus shopping for school.

This is all to get me in great shape for school - my athletic abilities and vocal abilities will improve, I’ll look great and feel great, I’ll have money saved up from work for fun stuff at school, I’ll gain leadership skills from volunteering with the state parks (I’d be a camp counselor), I’ll have something really cool to say I did over the summer (music festival), I’ll gain more leadership skills from organizing the 5k and it’ll look great on a college application, and I’ll be on track so I can take algebra 2 next year (taking geometry this year but never took algebra 1). And I’ll have everything I need for school after shopping.

So to wait a little less impatiently, do stuff over the summer that will somehow come into play with your boarding school experience next fall. Start planning for the summer stuff now - it’ll be here before you know it!

Another thing to do - travel. It might not prepare you for boarding school so to speak, but it’s a fun distraction. I’ll be camping some and going to the beach some. Before I leave, I told my dad I want to take a day and just drive around my state visiting the notable places and the little local landmarks. Ironic, because there’s not that many notable places around here and there’s few local landmarks. Plus it’s a small state, and I’d say about half of it (the middle and southern counties) is rural. It’ll probably just end up being a drive through the country.

To live in an exciting state…

I’m encouraging Moosieboy to ENJOY the summer!!! He’ll be playing soccer all summer long, but the rest of the time he’ll be taking it easy! There’ll be plenty of time to cram his schedule once the school year begins!!!

Right now I just cannot wait until summer starts. I figure that once I pass that threshold, time will go by faster. April and May are going to take forever!!!

Not for me. Three sports and school. Plus I’ll have finals end of May - June. :frowning:
