But to impeach a president, you have to charge him with doing something illegal. What's Bush done?

YES! It's high time the CHENEY FOR PRESIDENT crowd came together!

Impeach BUSH, and then DICK CHENEY can serve out the remainder of the term AND still be eligible for two full terms as President!

Make Dick Cheney America's second longest serving President! Sign this member list:

Can't you just wait for 2 more years? An impeachment hearing is for illegal stuff, not messing up foreign policy. No President has been impeached, and if one is impeached during an unpopular war, it could set a horrible prescient that no party wants.

Precedent?

As much as I despise Bush... I agree with Venkat. In order for our gov't to function, we have to follow the Constitution, no matter how incompetent the President.

An impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history. Hasn't the Bush's administration i.e. Karl Rove a.k.a. Bush's scapegoat not told you anything? Yes Rove made the decisions but who approved them? My point exactly! Our constitution was also based on enforcing liberty, so why is a male in the United States obligated to fight for his country in the time of war (draft if you will), regardless of his personal opposition to such an initiative?

Harding, Grant, and Reagan (along with others) have had administrations do illegal stuff but it never reached the President. You can't be blamed if someone you hire turns out to be bad (we can't read minds or souls) nor can the President be blamed if people bellow him make decisions without consulting him (more so to protect the President so he can't be blamed). To do an investigation will probably take longer than his term has left and would just waste time and money. Unless he does something obvious and illegal, it's in our best interest (especially in a time of war) to let him be.

No. Don't impeach Bush. Make the American people suffer for the ignorance; perhaps they'll learn.

Brand_182 I partly agree with you, however why must those who oppose Bush's policies undergo hell on a day to day level? Its time that we get rid of the electoral vote before another idiot from Bush's village holds office again!

Mhmm. But what has illegal activity has Bush done?

I guess fabrication and lying is not illegal in the United States. Someone put that monkey under oath!

To my knowledge, Bush hasn't done anything illegal - he's just a simple-minded, uninformed, ******* that refuses to consider the opinions of others. At least it seems Congress is trying to do something about it, though mustering a single voice in Congress in opposition to the president is a difficult task.

In that case, there are many presidents that should have been impeached.

I have found 2 Presidents that havn't lied. William Henry Harrison and James Garfield. The former died after a month in office, the latter after 6.5 months. The rest are pretty bad.

I still like D'yer's response best. That's a frightening concept; I'll take Bush for two more years.

How do we know that and how can we be sure? We have held Bush's lies to be the truth, and some still do i.e WMD's. Its a question of direct foreclosure.

I don't get it, so a president with congress approval can invade for example Botswana and kill for no reason and that would not be illegal? As long as we have the approval of 50yr. men sitting on capital hill we can invade any county and kill without this being illegal? Impeachment is a stigma, that goes down in history as evident. If we don't impeach this chimpanzee he will forever think that he was if you will "the man" and forever will be looked upon as the "liberator" unlike the title of chaos creator.

Bush has done a lot of things illegally.

1.) Let's start with Guantanamo Bay.
Detain indefinitely suspected individuals without a trial or explanation, that's unconstitutional.
2.) Invade another country based on false pretenses and kill thousands of innocent lives, including American soldiers, and destroy a nationhood without an apology or remittance of guilt.
3.) Wiretap thousands of innocent Americans' everday conversations without their knowing or permission from a Court...
4.) Ignore numerous intelligence warnings that there would be an attack on American soil.
That's just the beginning of it!

I rest my case.

Bush may deserve impeachment, but that does not mean it will happen. To be fair, he's not the first president to do something unconstitutional. Lincoln brought troops into battle without Congressional approval, every president up to Kennedy allowed millions of Americans to be deprived of the most simple, constitutional liberties because of politics, Truman imposed curfews on the West Coast w/o Congressional approval...

The list could go on. The point is, Bush is just plain bad at being unconstitutional. He'd have to cheat on Laura Bush or something with Condi to get impeached. :/ That's America for 'ya!

uhmm..... **** you ???

don't take this the wrong way but i think you can acknowledge that discussing with people like you never get's anything done eh ?
