Impeach Bush Now!

Because when you are a prisoner of war, you don't have the same constitutional rights all other American citizens do. If we let these people go they're just going back to the front lines to fight us some more. Is what we've done in Guantanamo wrong? Yes. Are there innocent people there? Probably. Are there innocent people in most US prisons? Probably. Should we let countless terrorists free to ensure that one or two possibly innocent people don't have their rights stripped? I don't believe so, but that's up to debate. Really, we have tons of rights, but we can't say "I hate America" on a plane. Well, no one needs to ride on a plane, but if someone in a turban stands up in a plane exclaiming why he hates America, he should be thrown in Guantanamo because that is not something to take lightly. It's why you can't say "Fire" in a theater. I dislike Bush, but don't think that he should be impeached. He messed up big time, but we have to fix his mistakes rather than allowing them to create more problems for our country.
But to impeach a president, you have to charge him with doing something illegal. What's Bush done?
Kofi Annan and the UN feels that Iraq was an illegal war.

yay i am champion of the world !yay

"Kofi Annan can suck my balls"

Cartman would have said this....

As much as I hate Bush, I think impeachment is not a good idea. Although I would vote "Hell YES!" if something like referendum for that would happen.

A prisoner of war? A dark-skinned Indian on a plane(or airport as I said before) I hate America and now he's a prisoner of war. Which war? The war on communism (Animal Farm had nothing to do with this)? The war on India?

At most he should be fined a fee for causing intentional distress, but you just said that somebody can go to jail for the rest of his life without a trial for saying "I hate America"?

Habeas corpus...once you start taking away rights of people, next thing you know we're having internment camps, then the next stop is global genocide.

The decline to war is most definitely a strong slippery slope argument rather than impeachment resulting in a theocracy.

Also Venkat, I think you misunderstood the whole premise of Animal Farm. The message was that Communism doesn't work because certain people want more rights for themselves than other people just like you want more rights for yourself than the people in the wrong place/wrong time.

Being congruent with afruff, "Terrorism is a tactic. You can't have a war against tactic."(C) Ron Paul.

GO RON PAUL!

Grand

Old

Party

Here's an insightful view from a congressman on how the current method of combating terrorism is wrong and unconstitutional.

http://leahy.senate.gov/press/200702/021207a.html

I like Ron Paul. He has the same belief as me as going back to the time of when the Constitution actually mattered.

Wow, look how mature you Bushies have gotten. Posting large colorful, meaningless text.

i know, isn't it awsome.... don't mind me i'm just trying out some..

Also, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuremberg_Principles principle VI.a.. well, all of the VI applies.

Here, let me try that again.

nice one !!

afruff, if you can't tell by my name, I'm Indian. I recognize that if I say "Death to America" near a plane, I'm going to spend the next 20 years in Cuba. However, why would I say "I hate America" on a plane? It makes no sense. There is free speech, then there is stupid speech. You can't say threaten someone's life, and saying "death to America" on a plane can be viewed as a thread after 9/11. Also, we have a war on terrorism where we are trying to limit the death and destruction these people try to bring. If Indian and Middle Eastern people are smart enough not to say threatening things, nothing bad will happen to them. My dad has been on countless flights since 9/11 and he hasn't faced any discrimination nor has he been sent to Guantanamo. Have you ever heard of clear and present danger? It means we dont have 100% free speech, but pretty close to it.

Also, it's pretty narrow minded to view Animal Farm as only a parody of communism. We can use that quote in this sense as we all have rights, but have to give up some in special circumstances. If you commit a felony, you lose the right to vote. If we are in a real war (like WWII) we lose the rights to free speech among other things that I can't think of. We have many rights and it is a little extreme to say that we are abdicating all of them under Bush's administration.

You people need to remember, we are at war. We are at war in Iraq and at war in Afghanistan (which many people seem to overlook). If we pick up people on the front lines, they are prisoners of war. I'm not familiar with the Geneva Convention, so I can't say what we can and cannot do to them, but they are stripped of some rights we have as American citizens.

Lying, perjury, illegal eavesdropping, obstruction of justice (multiple counts), manufacturing evidence, THE VERY FACT THAT HE DID NOT DO THE BEST JOB HE CAN FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!!!! (and if he IS doing the best job he can, he should be fired anyway) Oh yeah impeach Cheney with him.

That would make Pelosi President. Um, NO. Um, get rid of everyone in line ahead of Obama. That should be fine.

No we're not. We're not at war. THEY'RE at war. The rest of us are busy living lives based on how many meals we'd have to skip to go to the doctor to have a tumor looked at since his "tax cuts" also meant cuts in education, safety, and other social services....not to mention the record deficits and his record low approval rating (28%).
