just got an email from wesleyan today asking that additional information regarding incomplete financial aid information to be sent in asap. given that acceptances will be announced this month, do you think this might be an indication of impending acceptance? Do you think they would be following up on FA for students who will not be accepted?

Also, anyone know when RD decisions will be coming out?

I mean no and yes and no.

My understanding is that preliminary financial aid packages are made before the finaid office knows which students are getting in, and then when they find out they finalize the packages.

If you want to read between the lines, you should interpret it to mean that the friendly staff at the financial aid office on 237 High Street is waiting on your tax returns (and possibly more) that were due on February 15 and they want you to understand, in the kindest terms possible, that they can’t do their job until you get around to sending them the information that they need, so – in that vein – they are kindly asking that you spend less time imagining that they’re unwittingly tipping the hand of decision makers in a totally different department at 70 Wyllys Avenue and, instead, they are encouraging you to focus on getting your act together ASAP if, in fact, you’re still interested in attending/affording Wesleyan in the event that you are offered a place by the people at 70 Wyllys Avenue.

You guys are very rude. I hope you realize this reflects poorly upon Wesleyan. Stop acting like snobs and just politely answer.
