Importance of Counselor Recommendation?

I have a great relationship with my counselor; she is the co-sponsor of Student Council, of which I am President. As a result, we work together a lot. She is a very nice, sweet lady, and she has nothing but the best of intentions - but she is a poor writer. After submitting her evaluation of me on CommonApp, she let me read her letter, and I was secretly disappointed. There were grammatical errors, misspellings, and she even got my full name wrong when she referred to me in the first sentence (she left out the middle name, the one that I go by...kinda important). It was very short, and very bland and generic. Everything she said was extremely positive, but the manner in which it was said, in my overcritical opinion, sort of ruins it all.

Now I understand that I am really going through a crazy time right now; it's my dream to go to Notre Dame, so that is why every little aspect of the application I want to be perfect.

But I ask you, am I being to worried? Do you think that this evaluation will hold me back?

If it helps, my English teacher wrote a recommendation for me that just blew me away - I was almost reduced to tears by what she had to say about me, tears of joy and appreciation that is.

It’s a shame that an adult who could have really said something important didn’t use the opportunity. It’s not going to hurt you, though. Most students don’t even know their counselor, so most counselor recs are pretty generic. The point of them is more to verify your educational/disciplinary history, not like a teacher rec which is expected to speak more about you as a person.
