How do med schools view EMT? I got rejected this year and I'm pretty sure I'll make it if I take an EMT course over the summer and reapply. But is it worth all that time? Is it worth the summer? Is it worth 7 4-hour shifts a semester? Or can I just volunteer at a hospital and just do summer volunteering programs? Please answer. Thanks a bunch in advance.

EMT is looked highly upon but not much better than other extra currics unless you're like, captain of ur squad or something. I doubt one year of EMT would do you much good whereas one year of volunteering + shadowing might help you just as much.
