Importance of Georgetown legacies this year?

I was deferred Early Action from Georgetown and in my deferral letter, it specifically acknowledged my mother's attendance at the University and emphasized how my application would be reviewed with the utmost fairness in the upcoming months. The next day, my mother received a letter saying the Admissions recognized her strong association as an alumni and it felt almost as if they were trying to let my mother down easy, as if she was being deferred as well. I'm not sure if they're trying to warn her of my rejection and are hoping to ensure a continued pattern of donations, as my mother and her father have always been donors (and Georgetown has a relatively low endowment), or if it was just a form letter for any legacies who applied?

(my mom also got a "holiday" card with someone's business card in it, sending her "good wishes" for the season .. probably unrelated)

Has anyone else had a similar situation or similar input?

I am a legacy and got no such citation in my deferral letter...

Gtown has traditionally favored legacies... definitely helps...

My deferral letter just noted "family ties" to the University and the rest was fairly standard deferral information.

Well thank you for your help and best of luck to everyone!

put on and moma, what are your stats?

why does GU have such low endowment, compare to similar schools like ND?

my letter noted how my bro and sis went there and said it would take that into account during regular admissions. Georgetown doesn't publicly reveal how many legacy applicants they except but it must be big for them to not want to talk about it.

"why does GU have such low endowment, compare to similar schools like ND?"

The simple answer is that we started to fund raise very very late in the game compared to other schools who have been since their founding... I don't have an exact date, but sps Georgetown used to be funded some how through the Pope and didn't see a need to have an endowment (this is what I have heard, so please correct if I'm know and shed some light on this issue)
