Importance of GRE Quantitative Scores for Top 20 Engineering Schools

I’m applying to do my MS at top 20 engineering schools in EECS. I have a decent GPA (3.75) and decent research experience (i.e. my recommendation letters are going to be fairly good). However, my GRE scores are 158/162 (quant/verbal) which is not great, especially the quantitative.

My question is: How much does GRE quantitative scores matter when trying to get into a top 20 engineering school in the US?

Refresh my memory, what is the percentile for 158 in quantitative?

158 is 70th percentile for quantitative. That is not a good score for engineering, but probably won’t make you too uncompetitive. GRE scores are usually given the lowest weight in admissions, so if everything else is strong you stand a decent chance.

It does probably make you uncompetitive for fellowships, but as a masters candidate those are rare anyway.
