How important is an interview for Wesleyan? I didn't do one, in fact, I didn't do any at any of my colleges. It seemed like few people at my school did, and only did if the college actually asked for one.

I think its too late to do one now, but, is the interview important to admissions? How many people are admitted without one?

I don't know about NO interview, but a good friend of mine who is now a sophomore had a truly terrible interview--and I mean TERRIBLE--and still got in ED.

from what I know, the interview can only help you. in other words, they won't use it against you if you didnt interview or had a bad one... it's there to help get you in if admissions is on the fence about you

The school's web site clearly notes as does the admissions' literature that I received that interviews are highly recommended and are evaluative. My interviewer told me that he was sending in a report of my interview to the admissions department.

I really enjoyed my interview with a very interesting alum. It raised my interest level in Wesleyan. I was very thrilled that he felt I was a great fit for the school.I don't know if his evaluation will help get me in but it sure won't hurt if he reported favorably about me.

For me (accepted EDI), I think the interview was a huge factor because there were just so many things that I couldn't get across on the application. In the end, my interviewer (who was a really cool alum) said Wesleyan & I are a great match.
