hey all, im really into science, specifically biochem (as pre-med). so, how helpful in admissions is it for me to have a job at a biotech company and do research (both independent and group) at a local hospital? also, hopefully i'll get published from my hospital work, and maybe company work.

thanks for the input

no replies? come on...

research is always good, don't ask questions you know the answer to already.

Yale really hates research. I suggest you play the rebel card for a few years to really show some variety in your transcript and ec's. The adcom gets so tired of straight A's and nobel prize winners. They would much rather admit a member of a gang, especially if you're the founder.

Divanny, in the competitive world of college admissions, just founding a gang isn't enough anymore. What counts is the number of people you have busted a cap on in the streets.

I hear Yale admit rates for junvenile hall beats those for prep schools.

And felonies trump legacies.

Well, that explains my EA deferral. I suppose I could bash a few heads in if the admissions committee needs it.

Does anyone have mob connections? If I'm going to commit a felony, it's going to be memorable.

i got a speeding ticket, and a techical foul in basketball once... does that count?

Finally! That coke deal gone wrong in Tijuana will pay off!
