Importance of Labs?

I was taking organic chemistry and due to some reason or other, the class wasn't able to do labs, and I wanted to know how important this was in the long run for chemical engineering as well as pre medicine. I can take the lab separate at my university.

We haven't really covered doing NMR, TLC, or any of the other major techniques required for organic lab, and I've never done more than a synthesis on paper. Should I take the lab or would I be able to get away without the lab?

I will just direct you to this thread, which was 2 pages of discussing this very topic from roughly a week ago:

I was specifically only talking about that one lab course and it’s academic effects? I’ll have taken every other lab, just not the organic.

I see that one post said we learn some good things in organic lab, but didn’t see much else.
