So I've got all As and a couple Bs, 11 APs throughout high school, 2230 SAT, significant involvement in music extracurriculars, solid essays, and volunteer once a week; however, I dont have any leadership positions. So my question is this, how important is leadership for an applicant?

@OP: Pretty darn important. And not just for Penn. Most top-tier schools, heck, even second-tier schools look for leadership in applicants.

Not leadership “positions.” More like responsibilities and some leadership experience. Plenty of kids think it’s enough to have the titles and then those clubs do little. Adcoms know that. It may help to reevaluate what you did do and find the ways you stood out in those.

^^^Agreed.^^^ You can be a leader in many ways. Having a title does not make you a leader. Expand on how you showed leadership in what you did, title or not. :)

@All: Agreed. Though, the position helps IF you can speak to what you’ve done.

im sure you’re a leader in some form or another!
