Just curious as to how important the mid year report is to Ivy League schools. I've applied to Harvard, Yale, and Penn (and similarly prestigious schools) and obviously doing bad on my mid year report (3 As, 4Bs, 1C (Calc is killing me) won't help my odds but I was just wondering if it would kill my chances completely. Also, just for the record, I'm taking 7 AP classes and 1 Honors.

It shouldn’t but it really comes down to your gpa as long as its like 3.8+ you should be fine.

^Yeah it should be around there. I just wasn’t sure if how much of a factor the mid year report weighed into the admission decision. I guess I’ll find out in a few months anyhow haha. Thanks.

Ya I’m not very sure either but since you have a bunch of ap’s, your weighted gpa should be much higher if your school has it.

Midyear report is actually very important, according to NYTimes (can’t remember the article, but I read it sometime before December). Apparently, colleges use it to see if you can actually survive in their courses, since most seniors(such as yourself) take the hardest classes that the school has to offer. Your course rigor is obviously very daunting. In college, your schedule would be much easier, because 7 APs is roughly the same as enrolling in 6 college classes in one semester (which is impossible ). It all depends on your previous year’s course rigor and gpa, as well your SAT/ACT and subject tests (just looking at academics, not EC’s). In other words, look at your overall gpa, as well as your class rank and scores, and see if they’re up par to the ivy’s average accepted.
