Importance of NHS?

Yeah I never went to some meeting last year that you had to attend to apply...oopsie.

yes!! other math deficient people like me.

SAT scores: 560 math, 790 verbal. all I'm going to say. x_x;;;

We've got our damned induction ceremony today. ::yawn::

ahaha, NHS, no worries there, it's just a resume booster, just like nearly every single other club in the world.

What happens at the induction ceremony. I think i'm going to be in NHS next year.

at our school, nothing except get a candle to hold when your name is called and mutter/mouth the pledge of NHS (cuz the officers of the club can't speak properly for people to here) and waste time

Since I go to a rich Catholic school, ours went like this:

In the chapel. Start off with welcome, then a short song, then two short talks by students about our chapter's namesake, then a talk by our Headmaster (where I lit candles when he say buzzwords - character, service, scholarship, leadership). After that we were called up by name, light our candle, get our pin, and get in line. After that, we all said the pledge thing (read it off a sheet of paper), had our chaplain do a blessing, took a million pictures, then off to the South Room (dining hall) for punch (in wineglasses) and cake.

yeah our NHS has a big application, need clubs and community service and grades and it's just another student in the club who's gonna accept you anyway. i mean, i'd be more impressed with it if the principal thought i was cool enough for NHS and i'd feel more valuable to my school... :) but any friendly suckup could get their friend to get them in. i think.

Like most of my friends, I was nominated but never paid my dues so I'm technically no longer a member. Doesn't matter on College Apps though, just another bullsh-t thing like Who's Who, National Honor Roll; everyone has it.
