USC. shhh... lol >_<
No one throw stones at me.

I figured. I just didn't want to assume based solely off your username.

What makes UCLA your second choice? again, purely for curiosities sake.

(shows palms empty of any stones)

That's like applying to be part of the Yankees AND the Red Sox
[palms head]

:)

haha-.
UCLA- Way more overcrowded than USC with about 15k more students. Limited financial aid, last year I had a friend applying to a pool of schools with around the same EFC and received a couple grand more to attend USC over UCLA which I thought was insane. Well, none of these were her first choices anyway, but she was surprised.

Nonetheless, the academic programs FOR Communications at both schools are superior and competitive, as you can see by my constant anxiety, and I love my L.A. so it just made sense to apply to both. I am also really looking to double major in P.R. which is available at USC but not at UCLA. If I don't double major, the minors at USC will really do me some good to add to my Communications degree. I'm looking at having the Communication & the Entertainment Industry or the Advertising Minor.

It's more about this romantic "history" I'd say in being a fan of a school since childhood and all that emotional connection stuff, like most, I do have a preference, but when I only applied to 2 places, I need to get into both. [!!!]

yes, Christy Bliss is the actual name of the undergrad advisor for UCLA's Communication Department. hey did anyone ever watch "saved by the bell" during the "good morning, miss bliss" years? hehe

woman.of.troy - i just replied to your PM without checking this thread first. bah, oh well. ;) you can rest easy now!

You HAVE to have at least a 3.5 to apply to communications. I realized this after the fact. I have a 3.11 and all the pre-reqs finished for UCLA, but I don't even get my app reviewed. Good luck to you. You have a good chance Woman.Of.Troy.

Thanks killer22.

Quick question... If a major prerequisite course is not offered at my school, will it be counted against me?

When I was a freshamn they offered a major pre-req course, I still have the catalogues and went back and found it, but knew nothing about my exact pre-reqs to take until spring so I missed my chance to take that and the school hasn't offered the course since. :P

"I do have a preference, but when I only applied to 2 places, I need to get into both. [!!!]"

same

No!!!!! If your school does not require the pre-req courses it aint matter!

Guyy.... thank you. I know looking back I should have done some other random UC... but i took a gamble and now it's a stressing waiting game.

Torrancacali-THANKS! In that case, If I take Poli Sci short session, I will have taken all of the courses offered at my school for my pre-reqs. WheW! (sigh or relief!) Congrats on getting into SD by the way, I was snooping around the other threads.

LOL! thx... don't worry about it too much!!!! G luck with USC!
