I want to preface this by stating that I currently am a Sophomore, and that next year I am going to be a Junior. I have taken Spanish one and Spanish two, but next year, I may not be able to take Spanish three. I go to a relatively small school, and due to Scheduling issues, the only Spanish three course and the only Honors Chemistry course are during the exact same period. I plan on majoring in some kind of science, so taking Honors Chemistry is very important to me. Thus, my only option seems to be to take a different foreign language. Would colleges have any issues with me not taking two years of a language other than Spanish?

Taking a different foreign language class wouldn’t be any better than taking a class in a different subject. Some colleges require that you take three years of the same foreign language, and a lot of colleges recommend it. It’s not as important to have four, but you should try to have three. If you can’t take Spanish III next year, can you take it in your senior year?
