Importance of test scores

I got a 35 composite on the ACT (34 English, 33 Math, 36 Reading, 36 Science) a 760 on the Math II Subject test and a 730 on the Biology Subject test and I was wondering how important these are when applying to college. I want to go to a good school (Yale, Northwestern, MIT, etc.) and I was just wondering how important these test scores are to adcoms. Will I easily get into a good school or are EC's and other things more important? Any feedback is welcome.

Class rank is the most important factor in general but scores are very important too. For top colleges you need both, for very top colleges you need both plus significant accomplishments outside of the classroom.

For top colleges, your scores will definitely get you in the first door – you’re viable. That being said, you’ll then be bundled with all the other 35 ACT and 2300SAT scorers. How will you compare to them (essays, LORs, transcript)? that’s the real question. By the way, no one “easily” gets into the schools you’ve listed.

Regardless, congrats on your ACT achievement. Good luck
