I’m a transfer applicant and I have my alumni interview on Saturday. I’m looking forward to it because I tend to do very well in interviews. Can anyone give some insight into how much this counts for in the admissions process? Obviously, it’s hard to know for sure but I know some schools have a reputation for caring about interviews a great deal whereas others do not.
Georgetown values interviews more than a lot of other schools that use them. I think that some schools use interviews mainly to keep alumni involved, and barely consider the interview. I got the sense that Georgetown places a little more value in them than that. But I still don’t think that it’s important enough that it would make up for grades or anything like that. My interviewer (though I wasn’t a transfer applicant) was really nice Good luck!
**Also I’m not sure if interviews are considered differently for transfer applicants.
