On the latest SAT, I got a 12, and yet I got a 660 in Writing. x__x (Not like I'm concerned, because I think I can study for Writing and Correcting Sentences pretty easily.)

What you guys are saying though, is that the SAT essay doesn't count? I certainly hope the application essay does.

From the schools I visited, for the classes of 2010 & 2011 the writing section has to be taken, but doesn't get evaluated for admissions. In other words, admissions is still out of 1600.

Personally, I would have prefered if the writing DID count & CR didn't!!

I dont know if this is right, but I heard that writing is going to be considered equally at some schools like Harvard and Penn. Correct me if I am wrong

Wait.................. colleges actually get a copy of our essay??? Please tell me you're kidding. I'm assuming that if this is the policy for the SAT then its also the policy for the ACT. I really don't hope that's the case, especially for the ACT, where I tried to sound like a wisecrack on my essay.

My recent CR was just 440, Maths 700, and Writing 390... And I am English speaking. Writing part is very hard it seem. And now I want to boost my total to more than 1800. Is that possible? It seemed they do emphasise a lot in bery accurate vocabulary and very good evidence... By the way, I herd that IQ does correlates with SAT I score... and my recent IQ test is only 98.

Dan, I must say you just made me very happy =) i got a 790 on the writing section and was pleased to see that my dream school, Duke, was weighting the writing section equally. thanks for the contribution
