All I have to say is that when I spoke with Emory about what they look for in an applicant and their curriculum, the college prep was mentioned, of course - but they also wanted to see a heavy emphasis on writing. Therefore, at least for some colleges, I wouldn't be lured into thinking that the writing portion "doesn't matter".

Tufts counts the writing as much as CR and Math, so do most other excellent universities.

Some schools are beginning to look at writing.

On the few visits I've gone on, Northeastern said they obviously will see it, so if it's good it's nice, but they are not really using it at all in their final decision. Wellesley (who once required the writing SAT II) said they most definitely are beginning to look at the writing section. I believe Emory and Tufts also said they're starting to from what I heard and see above.

Depends on the school, they can easily answer your question. I really hope they started to take it into account as it's my highest score at this point.

Why is Williams undecided...grr...they always have to be different. This was my highest score so I PRAY they give it equal weight.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! JHU is under undecided..... Now I don't know if I should spend my summer studying for writing or CR since my writing is really bad.
