IMPORTANT: Chances at these good schools?? Profiles of people that got into UCLA??

I'm a junior in High School and I have no idea about what I'm going to/can do. Please Help
GPA cumulative so far: 4.11 Unweighted:3.91 Rank: Top 6%, class of 450

By the end of junior year estimate: GPA 4.21

By the time I graduate I will have taken at least 13 IB classes.

SAT 2 Math: 780
SAT (Estimate): Around 2000, I really need to work on this
EC's: Model UN, A Volunteering Club-I am a officer in this club, National Honors Society, Varsity Tennis, I am a mentor/leader for freshman at my school,

In the summer of 9th and 10th, I volunteered a total of 225 hours for an organization. The rest of the summer, took classes or traveled. This summer I am going to work for a business professor (Any other suggestions that I could do for the summer?)

I'm interested in business and economics, maybe law. I know this is bad, but I really want a career that pays extremely well. Does anyone have suggestions for potential careers and colleges that I could get into? Would I be able to get into NYU btw?

I'm considering,
UCLA
UC Berekely
UCSD
USC
UT Austin
Washington University in St Louis
NYU
UW...
what are my chances??? How can I improve so that I can get into the good colleges, UCB, NYU, UCLA, etc.

Please Help... Am I in good shape? I'm worried that Im not

Well, your GPA looks pretty good, and your EC’s are reasonably good. There’s nothing outstanding I see, so maybe you should try to get more leadership positions as a senior.

Do you live in CA? If you do, you probably have a pretty good chance at their schools (idk specifics) but WashU/NYU might be a bit of a reach. (Take it with a grain of salt, idk much)

You’re gonna need to take some more SAT IIs and your SAT I scores are ok. You should probably work on them though. Your ecs are kind of weak as well. Find something that you’re passionate about and stick to that. As it is though you still have a fairly good chance at getting into any of the UCs though Berkeley and LA may be a reach.

Also, it’s spelled Berkeley not Berekely. Don’t * that up on your essays. That’d really hurt you.

Beerom26, if you dont mind, could you post your profile? It looks like you’ve done extremely well (Being accepted into Stanford and all)
Im not a resident in CA

As for the dedication goes, I’m really interested in Business and economics. This year I took IB Economics Standard Level. Me and my friend really liked the subject so we talked to the administration about creating a Higher Level Class. They said no because of the cost to make a class so I contact sponsors (Did some other stuff ie: talk to teachers, coordinators etc.)… it turns out, I found a sponsorship and talked to a couple of teachers. I may have been able to create this class with my friend. Also, Im working with a business professor this summer. Does this help?

I got into LA with a 4.4, 2160 single try SAT, same 780 in Math 2, 770 in USH, and about equal ECs.

ABcollege: Before posting my stats, you should keep in mind that though I did get into Stanford, my scores and whatnot are not extremely impressive by any means. I do feel though that the rest of my application (my essays and shortanswers) were the strongest part.

quick question, ive heard from some people that you only have a limited amount of space to put ec’s on college apps. Any idea how many ec’s you can put?

Common App gives you five (?) spaces, but you can also upload a full resume.

Raise SAT to 2100+ and you’ll definitely get in Berkeley and UCLA

It’s 7 now; but again, you can upload a resume or submit additional information.

I got into UCLA and personally, I think there’s something about my school that UCLA really really likes. I mean, I’m ranked 32 out of a 750+ body of students and I’m sure at least 15 kids from our school got in. Of course, about 10 of them will be going to other places such as Berkeley, Yale, Stanford, blah blah.

SAT 1: 2080 on the 3rd time, 720 CR, 690 Math, 670 Writing.
SAT II: 750 Lit, 680 Math II

Key Club Lieutenant Governor of 9 schools in Elk Grove, CA.
JV Soccer 1 year
Varsity Water Polo 1 year
Varsity Swim 3 years

Good luck. I know some kids at my school with 18xx’s and still somehow ended up in UCLA; They prolly barely made the cut. Just make sure you understand the importance of SATs and your College Essays. Yup yup :)

Thanks… I really want to go there. Were you a resident of CA? Were there any internship/volunteering opportunities that you had during the summers? Do you have any idea about what UCLA cares about the most?
