Important Common App question!

Hi.
I am going to apply to a college that is one of the all-in-one institution. Since i am still waiting for the October SAT scores, I cannot submit any forms yet. However, if my counselor's recs reach the admission office b4 i submit ANY of the forms, will they throw the recs away?
Also, do we have an application ID for common application? How can i check that all the materials such as the transcripts are send successfully to the admission office? Even if I call them, is there any identification/applicant number I can use?

Thank you.

The second colleges receive anything from you (test scores, applications, recs, etc) they do not throw them away but open a file for you for all your information/documents.

As far as I have seen, there are no application IDs from the common app UNTIL you submit your application. In that case, the college from which you’ve submitted your application will notify you via email/other means to tell you exactly what your ID number(s) are; common app doesn’t really deal with the app # stuff. The best possible ID number that you can give them is your Social security # (unless they’ve already given you an app. ID number). As for the other question, beats me. Hope this helps

A Yale admin said recommendations have gotten lost or misplaced when they come before the student submits his/her online application.

Yes, and recommendations have also gotten lost or misplaced when they come in after a student has submitted the application. Generally, though, it’s not a problem.
