I am a high school senior planning to apply to the University of Texas at Austin, which has a highly-ranked pharmacy school and one of the country's best business programs. I am interested in both majors/careers equally, but I need to make up my mind before starting college because the pharmacy route (should I decide to take it) is very structured and gives little room for hesitation or switching of majors. So which career do you think would offer a more successful future, in terms of salary, job security, job satisfaction, etc.?

And if I choose the business path, I would probably major in Accounting and branch out to other professions

Pharmacy has a high starting salary but almost no room for growth. Accounting has a lower starting salary but your income will grow significantly the longer you do it.

Also, aren’t some hospitals and pharmacies testing automated machines?

No one can answer that for you except yourself.
I would not do “business” for undergrad though. Most people pick that up through work experience and a MBA which is what matters more.
There’s almost no room for growth in terms of salary for any career when you take into account competitiveness, averages, politics in the workplace, etc. and you’re just the average.
