Important Early Decision Question

Does Early Decision help chances of getting in?

NYU Published: Freshman Applicants

If you click the "plus sign" next to information regarding NYU's ED process, they write that .

"Many students want to know if it is “easier” to be admitted through our Early Decision process. The reality is that no, it is not “easier” to be admitted Early Decision, as the quantifiable criteria we use to evaluate candidates for admission – GPA and class rank (if available), test scores, etc. – is the same during both the Early and Regular Decision processes."

Does this mean ED doesn't help? I am second guessing my decision to apply ED to Stern.

PLEASE RESPOND!

If you expect your first semester senior stats to be above your average, you might want to apply RD. Otherwise the NYU ED advantage may just be getting it all over early.

For ED they have less applicants so they technically accept a higher percent (around 40%). It is still just as competitive.
