Well, that would be [4(4.5) + 4 + 4(5)] / 8 = 4.625</p>
<p>and person B has 5 Honors and 2 APS
And that would be [5(4.5) + 2 (5)] / 7 = 4.64. </p>
<p>Therfore, person B.

<p>Are you a freshman? Previous grades impact it. Maybe your school doesn’t weight it the way you think they do.</p>
<p>Besides think about it. If you had even all honors classes, the most you could get would be a 4.5.</p>

Honors and AP classes are both weighted with an honors point. Only way that would work.</p>
<p>but AP and honors are weighted differently, i know that for a fact. its a florida scale if that helps at all. if you don’t know ill ask my guidance counselor.</p>

<p>You really should ask your guidance counselor - it differs between each school. There is no true standard.</p>
<p>Why are you so focused on your GPA anyways? It’s important to note that colleges mainly look at unweighted GPA due to the inconsistencies in the weighted ones. Also, it is important to understand that the GPA is just an estimator.The difference between a 3.0 and 4.0 (unweighted) can be as little as 0.5% in every single class.</p>
<p>i know. im worried so much because right now, im number 5 in my class and next year, about 20 people are taking 2 AP’s and 5 Honors, while im taking 3 AP’s, 1 Reg, and 3 Honors, so i wanted to know how badly my rank would be effected</p>

<p>You’re a FRESHMAN. Your class is rank is going to be so affected in the next few years, you have no way of predicting what you’ll be when you apply. </p>
<p>Sorry to be blunt, but this is why most high schools don’t tell class rank until you’re a junior. Don’t worry until halfway through your junior year because honestly there’s nothing you can do about it except taking challenging courses you will do well in.</p>
<p>The reason your GPA is not coming out the way you think it should is because, as romanigypsyeyes said, previous grades impact your GPA.</p>

<p>You’re a freshman!!! And being val means absolutely nothing in real life… and it almost means nothing to colleges! So who cares? As long as you are in the top 10-15%…</p>
<p>haha yeahh i guess. my school and grade are EXTREMELY competitive, and im a competitive person which adds to the problem.</p>
