I also received this letter.

I did too. I wonder what exactly happened that made this necessary...

I was surprised that a techonology school like MIT would have problems like these.

myMIT is a new system, and as we recall the site was down around Nov 1, causing the EA deadline to be delayed. I wonder how secure their developer's job will be at the end of the admissions cycle :D

lol. When I was deciding whether to apply online or by paper to MIT, I chose online b/c I figured that since MIT invented the internet (or so I've been told), then their online application should definitely be unflawed. I guess I was wrong...but it actually ended up working for me since they extended the EA deadline.

Actually, Al Gore invented the internet. :D :D

i guess, they had problems b/c they are THE techie school and crackers(who knows something really.) would go there and test/brag their ability rather than a lesser known school.

plus they might had a never-heard-before exploding amount of early applications this year.

Nope, Matt McGann's blog said the # of EA applicants this year were around the same as last year's.

did any of you have changes/problems? because i got the letter too, but when i looked over my application again, i couldn't find anything different about it.

jenz129, the online applicants this year could still be greater than that of last year. There could have been an unanticipated huge amount of online applicants, but I doubt it. It's a new system and new systems have bugs.

I also didn't notice any changes with my application.

Yeah, their admissions website is so cool now, I can understand an increase in the # of online applicants this year.

And no, I didn't find any changes in my application either.

LSA - you know a LOT about the MIT admissions process - do you work there or something? ;-)

nope.

(it's Florey :) )

How do you know all of these things then? I am impressed. I think you are secretly Matt McGann. :-)

LOL. I seriously doubt Matt McGann would have the time to post on a forum like this. He barely has enough time to update his blog! :)

I just do my homework, that's all. I don't know any more than many.

But isn't that what you would say if you were Matt McGann? See, you're good. :-)

You're funny. :)

Look through my previous posts and take note of the time they were posted. If I lived on the East coast, I'd be one hell of a night owl. :D

No, I'm not Matt, and I've never set foot on the MIT campus.

You're VERY good. I will now compare your late-night posts with Matt's fall travel schedule (i seem to remember that he did most of the west coast info sessions) to see if there's a pattern. If not, I guess I'll believe you. (But if you are Matt, I think you are cute. :-)
