Important news for prospective Rice students

The university sends out a weekly email called Rice News. You can subscribe to it by sending an email to ricenews@rice.edu.

Each weekly email lists about 15 news items about what people in the Rice community have been doing lately. Students, faculty, donors, researchers, sports, are all included.

We've been getting it since my son started at Rice this semester. As much research as we did - and we did a lot - there is no way that the college guide books and all the posts at CC can compare with what you cumulatively get by staying in touch this way. If you are a senior, you'll get 75 news items by the time you decide whether to attend Rice or some other place. If you are junior you'll get hundreds of stories before you decide whether or not to apply next year. This will give you a better knowledge base and sense of familiarity which will help you to decide whether or not Rice is right for you.

Also, you might want to read The Rice Standard - ricestandard.org or The Rice Thresher - ricethresher.org

thanks for the info…ive subscribed!

Thanks! I’ve subscribed. Also, you can find the current issue and archives here: [Rice University | News & Media](http://www.media.rice.edu/media/Current_Issue.asp)

Can I add to that? Also check out Rice Thresher, the student newspaper. I subscribe to that and keep up to date on the latest on-campus news. It also gives parents a lot to talk about with their Owls.
