I'm filling out the additional information to highlight some ECs and non-academic awards. I was wondering if I should use a list/resume format or should I actually use paragraph/essay form.

Right now, I am working with a list format because it serves its purpose better.

If you choose the upload document feature, will the formatting be preserved (since it is a PDF file)? And also, would a 2 page resume with a third page addendum of awards be overkill?

If I want to include a resume, but Stanford specifically states,

We ask, however, that you please resist the impulse to send us extra items. Additional materials (except in the case of home-schooled students submitting curricular materials and portfolios) will not be evaluated and will not be returned. Please do not submit a r

The way I read this is that Stanford doesn't want extra materials sent as supplements, by mail, rather than some extra info that's uploaded in the Add. Info section. Whether one chooses to use the box or the upload feature doesn't matter. D chose to use the latter since she could format the info to look clearer (bolding some titles, spacing between lines etc, which box doesn't allow for). She used the feature for a list of additional awards, publications and the like. As long as it's no more than a page, similar in length to what would fit in the box, I think what you list there would be ok. Hope so anyway.

Stanford said expanding the activilities list is fine but no resume, ie no job listed, etc.. I've always understood no additional supplements like awards, publications, etc.. but this one is very odd. I even call them twice just to see if different people give different answer and the answer is the same. We just want to see what your student is interested in.
