Important Question About An Application

I have a bit of a situation here, and I realize that it's my fault for putting it off, so please withhold criticism and only provide meaningful help.

I wanted/want to apply to Fordham which has a 1/15 deadline, it was a last-minute decision to add it to my college list and I gave my counselor a heads up last week. The problem is, I was gone Thursday and Friday from school (I had to get some x-rays and tests done, because I hurt my back). I realize that it should have been turned in a long time ago, but again, it was a last minute addition.

Is it still possible to apply there? My application is done, I just need to submit it, but I don't think my transcripts, etc. would be sent out by the January 15th deadline (Tuesday). Will they still accept it or should I just not bother applying?

Most colleges aren't 100% strict on the transcripts/recommendation deadlines. Just make sure your stuff is in by the deadline.

That's what I thought, but I was wondering if anyone knew specifically if Fordham would accept them? "Most colleges" do, but I don't want to throw away $50 if they say no.

Ask Fordham, not well intentioned, but likely uninformed strangers on the Internet.

Sorry, I didn't catch what you meant Northstar - you're recommending that I call Fordham? I was thinking about doing that, but didn't necessarily want to bring it to their attention that I was waiting to the last minute.

You can call anonymously.

I think I'll do that tomorrow when the admission's office is open, but meanwhile, I found this on their website:

"Regular Decision The application deadline for freshmen candidates for the fall semester is January 15. Freshman applicants with completed files will be notified of decisions by April 1. Applicants who complete their files after this date will be notified approximately two weeks after all credentials have been received. Applicants for the spring semester are required to file an application by December 1 and will receive a decision by December 15, assuming all credentials have been submitted."

I interpret this as it being okay for transcripts, etc. to be received later, does anyone else see it in the same way (or differently)?

To the top.
