Important question about getting loans

I want to get my own place after I graduate and get my BA degree; I don't want to move back into my parents house and want to know are there any loans I can get from the government or elsewhere that I don't have to pay back for a couple of months until I can land a job? feedback would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you maxed out your eligibility to borrow Stafford loans? If not, you could borrow the maximum you are eligible for during your last semester in school. The payments would not be due until 6 months after you finish classes. That might buy you some time.

Other than that, I am not aware of any options … other than living at home while you look for a job or sharing expenses with some other young people in order to keep costs to a minimum. Just keep this in mind: The fact that you have graduated does NOT mean that you should expect to live “well” (I’m not saying YOU do expect that - I don’t know! - I am just giving a general caution). In the past, most young people expected that they would be relatively poor for a few years after graduation. If you can accept the fact that it’s okay to put off luxuries, you may find that living on your own … while not as comfortable as your life was when at mom & dad’s … is something you CAN afford.
