Important Question from an International....

Hello CC,

I live in a country where there are relatively few extracurricular activities outside my school. To clarify myself, I can't really reach out to the community. Volunteering is not allowed until a teenager is eighteen. This country is also not my home country so I can't participate in International Olympiads because I am an expatriate. I can't participate in my home country's Olympiads either because I am not living there. That was just a background...

Writing is my passion and recently I found great competitions I am interested in... I didn't find anything like that before. I am a rising senior, so will colleges view my participation in those competitions as rushed, last-minute efforts?

Your views are kindly appreciated. :)

Competitions won’t be viewed as “last minute efforts” because there is no guarantee that you would win. Some could start a club senior year and have a 99% chance that there would be 1 meeting.

EC is not just community service. Did you take music lessons? What did you do with your time?
