In my school the administration asks us to pick 3 teachers to write our recommendations in order of preference...you know, just in case...and I just found out yesterday that there was some sort of mix up and they completely disregarded my order of preference and did not send the one I wanted the most...So I had them send it over to all the universities today with a letter of apology explaining what happened...I REALLY wanted that letter to be sent because I have worked HARD to get into that teacher good graces...The deadline for most of the universities I applied to was Jan. 1st..So i really really dont know if they'll completely disregard it or not...its probably too late...Has this ever happened to anybody????? Do you think its likely that they'll just replace the other ones with this one??? please helpp I am freaking out here...

Don't worry about it. Schools have made mistakes before and they caught this one early and fixed it.

Don't worry! Admission officers have not even begun looking at applications yet. They are still sorting through all the mail. They will add your third teacher recommendation to your folder.

Depending on the school, and what was written in the note sent with the letter, admission officers will either look at all three letters of recommendation or remove the one you requested they ignore. Chances are, they will look over the one that wasn't meant to be sent to make sure there aren't any major negative comments. They will absolutely look at the letter that was sent late just as they would any other letter of recommendation.

wow thanks!...I feel so relieved right now...
