Important Question Regarding Auditing Art Class for 2020 RD Admission

Hi,
I have decided to audit a metal arts class for my first semester senior year and will not be graded for it because I am busy taking AP classes outside of school. Since I’ve obviously submitted my app already, should I contact admissions mentioning that I did this because I still wanted to learn about metal arts and its history but was more focused on my AP classes? On my transcript, the abbreviation AUD is representative of this choice. I’m concerned that it might be misconstrued that I failed it or something if not explained.

If I do contact them, any suggestions as to how I should do this?

Thank you so much

AO’s are all college grads; they all know what AUD means, so no need to explain it to them.

How do you take AP classes outside of school?

@skieurope While they know what an audit is, it may appear that I underperformed in the course but in reality, just wanted to focus on AP classes. I’m wondering if I should contact them to clarify that I audited for other academic purposes, not because I wasn’t doing well in the class.

@“Erin’s Dad” I’m taking APs through Apex Learning online.

The vast majority of colleges are looking for applicants that are not pure academic grinds, so, no, I would not suggest making this statement to colleges.
