I didnt do to good my freshmen year. My gpa was a 2.63 but the rest of the years since freshmen year I got straight As.I attended the number 1 high school in Illinois. Freshmen year I had Bs in all my core subjects but not in my electives of gym and computer science because I didnt go. Will they over look these grades and write it off as a bad year or weigh it heavily on my application.

Freshman year will be the one that will weigh least on your application. As long as you’ve shown steady improvement, you should be fine. You can get into a great school even with bad grades freshman year.
(Example: I know someone going to Duke who got D’s freshman and sophomore years but improved drastically his last two years
)

Also, do look at Freshman gpa to make sure you didn’t fail. I will be a negative. I know someone who was rejected from Harvard who had a 4.8 Soph-Senior because he got 2 Cs in fresh year
