<p>I just found that being a NYS resident doesn't give you a leg up in the Cornell state schools ex. (CALS), is this true? Also, while I know which major you pick affects your admission in CALS, does the major you pick also affect admissions in college of arts and science?</p>

<p>What do you think would be less competitive? Applying to CALS as a communications or applying to CAS as an Economics major?</p>

<p>i posted the individual admissions rates for each school within cornell to the ED thread, but i’ll just tell you that typically CAS is much harder to get into than CALS</p>
