i got a question. I had a 3.6 weighted GPA in 1st semester freshman and then a 4.2 in 2nd semester. HOwever, i had this crazy upward grade trend where i got a 4.6/4.8 in 10th grade. I am a junior now and my dream is stanford...did i just screw up my chances for stanford because of my bad first semester grades in freshman year. (my gpa is 4.3 now. and i heard stanford's average GPA is 4.5)

stanford doesn't look at frosh year grades. 2. stanford doesn't look at your school's weighting on your grades. it does it's own. the 4.5 thing is not at all true. you're fine, don't worry.

yeah, and upward grade trends are good. you're definitely not out of the running.
