<p>I was wondering, what is the purpose of senior midyear grades? Are they incorporated into the GPA that colleges look at during college admissions? Or are the MAINLY and SOLELY to see if a student is slacking off?</p>

<p>I’m pretty sure they evaluate your 7 semester transcript when making admissions decisions. So… The mid year GPA would probably be the more important one.</p>
<p>Both are important, if you are doing RD. They evaluate the 7 semester transcript thus will value both junior year probably similarly to first semester senior year. That is why once first semester passes, seniors get “senioritis” since there they last semester doesn’t matter for college admissions purposes.</p>
