Is the SAT II Literature test really curved so that -2 is 800? (According to the official collegeboard book). Yeah, i know it's the official one, but other prep books have been saying -5 is an 800 (though not as reliable as CB) and -2 = 800 for something like literature seems a little off. Can anyone confirm? thank you so much.

bump!!!

Ugh, bump too. I’m nervous.

In May I left more than 8 blanks, and for sure answered some wrong (I have never prepped for Lit), and still got 720. The scale must be pretty favorable; -5=800 would not surprise me.

I’d say the curve in CB is worst case scenario! I think you can get a fair few wrong!

thanks for the reply dancer13! does anyone else know anything about it?

The practice test in the blue book is definitely easier compared to practice tests in Kaplans.

I scored around 750-770 on Kaplans, but got a 790 on the BB practice test. -2 seems like a reasonable curve for an 800 on that test. However, if the test is anything like Kaplans or Princeton, I would expect -5 to be an 800.

okay, thanks luminouzz. have you taken the actual sat lit test yet or are you taking it this sat? do you have any advice? i’ve decided to take it early instead of my junior year.
