It is extremely important that you save your college essays in a number of places after you are finished typing them. Saving the essays to your hard drive alone in not a good idea. Several times this summer I encountered computer problems and if I did not save my essays in alternative places I would have to start from scratch (and believe me, I worked too hard on my essays to do that).

My advice for saving you college essays:

First save them to you hard drive.

Save them to a floppy disk or another type of removable harddrive.

E-mail the essays to yourself!

Print the essays once you decide that you will no longer work on them for a period of time. After you print them, write the date on the top to stay organized!

I am sharing this advice with you because I do not want the same thing to happen to you as it did to me. After I had to re-boot my computer last week, I lost the harddrive file. Today, when I placed my removable harddrive into my computer to open the file, it was not working. Luckily, I did e-mail myself my essays. At first, it was quite a scare but I soon calmed down after realizing that I had my essays in my inbox. So please, save your essays in a number of places because you never know what might happen to them!!
