so bottom line, I should just take one lab on Thursday right. That means moving biol lab to monday 7-9:50pm. Wouldn't that be kinda late?

suggestions...

anyone?????

9:50 honestly isn't that late to most college kids. it's not like you'll be in bed by 10:00 every other night anyway if you're like 95% of your peers. i had a bio lab from 6-9pm and it was no big deal.

and btw.....labs don't always go the entire 3-hour period. most of my labs were done in 2 hours or less, and this was for a 200-level human anatomy/physiology class.

did anyone ever have two labs in one day, particularly gen bio and gen chem?

Of course 9:50 isn't late in terms of staying awake and going to sleep, but it's way too late for a class. I usually went to bed around 1 or 2, but that doesn't mean I would want to be in class until almost 10. Not a chance in hell.

Anyway, I didn't have both labs in one day, but it's one of those things you have to figure out whether you can handle. It's just a matter of gritting your teeth and getting through the day, really.

I wouldn't like being in class till 9:50 at all. I don't think your original schedule is that bad, either. You'd have one long day, but I've gone from 8-6 (granted, with breaks) and it wasn't bad at all. And it's especially fine because your Wednesday is easy so you'll have plenty of time to do/study for any homework, tests, and lab reports on Thursday.

ok so what if I moved that Bio Lec on Tues and Thurs to monday and wednesday from 1-2:15pm. And also move that chemistry lab to 8:30-11:20 am. This way I'll still have two labs in one day, but I would have space between them. HOw does that sound. Plus my thursdays would be pretty light. On the other hand, my mondays and wednesdays would have 3 classes.

How does that sound?

*revised schedule

Monday--History(9-9:50am), Trig (10-10:50 am), Bio lEc(1-2:15pm)

Tuesday --Chem Lec(1-2pm), Chem recitaion(2:30-3pm).

Wednesay--History (9-9:50am), Trig (10-10:50 am), Bio Lec(1-2:15)

Thursday--Chem lab (8:20-11am), Chem Lec(1-2pm), Biol Lab(5:30-8:20pm)

Friday--Histroy(9-9:50am), Trig(10-10:50am)

Comments would be helpful.

^Lol, harsh.

Well, I think you can figure out how to rearrange your schedule on your own, but I sympathize. I was ***ed I had classes two nights a week until *6 pm.

Ballin - I think that looks like a great schedule. Three classes a day is really not bad at all. More than that, and you'd have more of a right to complain.

I understand the concern, though, especially since as an incoming freshman, you have no clue really what to expect. Now if you'd posted this topic later in your college career, and I'd be leaving a comment like shoebox10's...

*so I see my post got deleted huh, well I guess I just have to post it again. As I was saying, I'm just a concerned freshman, the advisors at my school really have no clue what they're talking about.

As for shoebox, I could post negative comments about him/her, but I'm not going to...Got to stay classy man. But some people on this board just don't know what that means....
Is shoe-box the only thing you can afford??? lol.

We were all freshman, or are, at some point. Everyone has crappy advisors (or worse!). It's not a big deal. Hundred bucks say that once you get going, you wish you had a different schedule. Everyone on here is different, as I like jamming all of my classes as close together as possible just to get them out of the way. I know others who like to spread them out. No one on here can possibly tell you what is best for you. That's all I was trying to point out. College scheduling is a total crapshoot, and it sucks, believe me as an engineer I know (try fitting 6 classes that are either MWF or TR, two discussions, and two labs in a 5 day week...oh, and two of those classes only have one offering...gee, thanks ms. registrar hahah). But coming on CC going nuts over it doesn't help. Think about how YOU want to study, and how you will best function. I hate getting up before 9, but I scheduled a 9am class MWF just to get me up and moving. You will find that once you get through first semester, and then again after second, you'll say "well, I study best when it's broken up" or "crud, I don't get up till 11:45 if I have only noon classes" and thus you will spread out your schedule and start your days at 9 or 10. Study habits are a kicker in college, and it's best to listen to your own body for the method you prefer. It will change, but it's best to start out with some thought to it.

PS- you're schedule looks fine. Late night labs suck, and I have one till 8:45 on Monday (after a million classes). But, it's a thursday night for you, so just use it as an excuse to not go out on thursdays.

PPS- shoebox has to do with my name. I couldn't think of anything better haha

This

"As for shoebox, I could post negative comments about him/her, but I'm not going to...Got to stay classy man. But some people on this board just don't know what that means...."

followed by this

"Is shoe-box the only thing you can afford??? lol."

confuses me.

I think he may have gotten a tad mixed up there because he was busy reporting me...I dunno, maybe us engineers are just out of it

didn't you report my post too...Anyways no hard feelings though.

Anyway--if your school has an add/drop period, that'll let you get a feel for your schedule and see if it works for you. If it doesn't, well...it's not like this won't be your only chance to create a great schedule...

ballin- no. I've only reported one person on here and that's because they were ruining a thread on another board with stupid biased comments.

so why was my post deleted...

You don't have to get reported for a mod to delete a post, and shoebox doesn't have sole reporting powers.
