Important, stressing out :( Chance me for GW, NYU, BU, USC, Penn State or UCONN

please help!

Hey guys, i am so nervous and was thinking if anyone could help me by telling me if i'd be in, a good candidate or if i'd probably get rejected. it would help me so much to hear your opinions. it would be amazing if you could help me..really

STATS:
-international student, living in germany going to an international school
-taking the IB diploma, with only honor classes
-top quarter of graduating class
-GPA 3.4 uw, dropped a bit in senior year because the IB is exceedingly demanding and hard.. the classes are harder than AP classes.
-SAT = 570 CR, 620 math, 670 Writing
-take highest possible level of english literature and geography at school

RECOMMENDATIONS:
-My recs will probably be the best part of my application. The 2 teachers I got to write them I am EXTREMELY close with, they're like best friends to me. One is my university counselor, she's really young and we are really close. The other is my german teacher, had him for 7 years and he knows me inside out. I saw the recs they wrote me and they are incredible. The last rec is from my IB coordinator, which is the highest position in my school. For some reason, she loved my sister and absolutely loves me, and she wrote my rec. Due to her importance, her rec was extensive and probably is very very good.

ESSAYS:
-english being my best subject at school (A+ average) and having worked on my essay till late at night with my english teacher, they were really good, i was very satisfied with all my essays.

Extra Curriculars: have TONS of these:
-11 varsity letter winner in 4 sports.
-basketball captain junior senior year, mvp in senior year
-soccer best defender award at nationals 2012
-volleyball nationals mvp 2011
-started and own a clothing brand (breaking through, we'll be at zumiez soon) www-plain-clothing.com
-MUN -student government
-starred in 6 school musicals and plays (always leading roles)
-Volunteering to help romanian kids help build a house for a week
-Tutoring small kids at my school for 4 periods a week
-playing sports in outside clubs (german clubs)
-play in two different bands (sold out 2 shows in a pub)
-give free guitar lessons to kids aged 7-10

Please let me know what you think! i'd be forever grateful

Everything is good except your GPA and SAT. But I’d say you have an OK chance at all your schools.
Chance me?:)

Your gpa is on the low side along with your SAT score but you have good extracurriculars. You have a good shot at all of them, except NYU will be a reach.

Your rank, GPA and SAT are lowish. It looks odd to have such good marks in English but low scores on your English SAT sections. But your EC’s are very good and good recs/essays will always help you.

GW- high match
NYU- low reach
BU- low reach
USC- high match
Penn State- in
UConn- probably in

Did you apply for financial aid?

thank you for everyone who replied! yeah i mean i have a 7 predicted in ENglish A1 HL but i’m still not sure, the SAT is SO different to what we are taught in germany. like, completely different. so getting used to it is really hard.

and no, i didn’t apply for financial aid, my dad’s job is paying all the tuition. :)

Since you didn’t apply for financial aid,
GW- yes
NYU- yes
BU- maybe
USC- maybe
Penn State- yes
UConn- yes

Update this thread with your results!

got into UCONN today!! ahh so excited. i’ll keep posting my decisions.

in the meantime… anyone else?? :)

and got into penn state this morning!

only NYU, USC, BU and GW left… my top choices. i’m stressing out so bad

rejected from BU and GW… **** my life. USC and NYU are long shots…

Sorry to hear that  just know that wherever you end up is where you’re supposed to be. Good luck on hearing the rest of your news!
