My S got accepted ED to Olin. He just got a letter asking him to attend SOAR (Summer Orientation, Advising & Registration) in July for a few days. Any views from current students whether this is important to attend, as he lives overseas and not too easy to make it out then? If important and worthwhile, he can do it though.

I think the name “SOAR” might be new, but it’s still just the summer weekend visits.

It’s absolutely not necessary, and certainly not worth it for an international student (especially considering he’s Olin, and not artsci).
