IMPORTANT - TOEFL deadline, did I miss it?

Hi guys,

the thing is, that I have been told several times that TOEFL test is a concern I should worry about the least so eventually, when I wanted to check the dates, I found out, that there are none available for this year.

The deadlines of applications for all of my unis are 1st of January, however the first availiable date in my country is in 12th of January. What should I do? I am applying for Princeton, Yale, MIT and Harvard (perhaps Stanford and some other universities as well). Do the universities require me to have the TOEFL scores received by the time of submitting the application? From what I have found on the internet (I might be mistaken though) I guess that at least Princeton does and Yale recommends it. So I've been thinking about it and I've come up with two solutions - either can I write an email to the admission offices stating that due to some more specifically described and credible reasons I will not be able to send the TOEFL scores in time, or I could register for one availiable test date (which is in four days) in another country remote 4 hours by car from my city, despite the fact that I have not revised for the test whatsoever and I don't think my score would be perfect.

What do you recommend me to do? I am panicking!

I beg you for swift response, this is very important to me and I will greatly appreciate all of your answers!!! Thank you in advance

Oh I forgot to mention that I am an international students and that I have taken both ACT and SAT Subject tests.

If it’s possible for you to go to another country and do it then I suggest you do that (do you have to register for the exam? If so have you done that already? Otherwise you might not be able to take part.) From what I’ve seen (from the paragraph above) your English seems okay and if you speak as good as you write I doubt you’ll have a problem passing. Good luck.

I have the EXACT same problem as you. I was going to take the TOEFL this Friday, but didn’t have the card to pay for it yesterday. Just now, it’s not available anymore. let me know what you decide to do, might help me!! :frowning: dying right now

Call or email the specific unis and ask. They might/might not require to submit your scores by Jan 1. I had a similar issue and NU let me submit my Nov 12 TOEFL scores for ED (1st Nov deadline)

Plus you dont really need to ‘study’ for the TOEFL, just go through the test on their website and be familiar of what you’ll be doing there and you should be fine.

best of luck!
