hi i was wondering if anyone knew how the job placement for college econ majors is? I really need to know, since i need to decide between georgetown or northwestern soon, and im leaning towards gtown

I can't really say about college econ majors specifically, but the job placement program as a whole is pretty strong. On-campus recruiting is especially impressive, with various banks, firms, and government employers coming on campus, most of which look to hire some people with an econ background. Economics, political economy, and the two SFS majors (International Econ, International Political Economy) taken together make up a decent-sized group, so there's definitely some thought given to post-graduation options for them.

Northwestern will probably be strong in that area as well, although within the Chicago area it would inevitably play second fiddle to UChicago's econ program. Georgetown also has the added benefit of the various federal agencies, contractors, and NGO's that are based in the Washington area.
